Terry Tirrito Ph.D
Professor, Walden University

Dr. Tirrito currently teaches for Walden University. The bulk of career was spent in the College of Social Work of the University of South Carolina, where she served on faculty and as director of the doctoral program. Previously, she worked as a gerontologist in private practice, and as director of social services in a long-term care facility. Dr. Tirrito is a graduate of Fordham University in New York with a degree in gerontological social work.  She is a respected international teacher and researcher who has lectured in various countries, including Korea, Hong Kong, Toronto, Israel, England, Scotland, and France. She and Dr. Nathanson collaborated on several publications, including the seminal work, Elder Practice: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Working with Older Adults in the Community (University of South Carolina Press: 1996).
