

Helene Cohen
Accomplished Specialist and Manager
Helene Cohen is an accomplished aging life specialist and social services director with over 20 years’ experience in resource coordination, multicultural outreach, dementia care programing, residential program planning and supervision. Helene is a strong advocate for people 62 and older who want to remain in their communities, with a track record of success helping them find solutions and services to do so. Helene’s specialties in advocacy, caregiving, social isolation and loneliness training, aging conferences, dementia training, chairing Dementia Friendly group, elder mediation, and basic mediation. She has been a caregiver for her grandfather and for a number of her residents over the years that had little family involvement or had no family at all.

She has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in Prelaw. She also has several certifications including Art Therapy to Cope and Manage Stress and Grief during Caregiving in the Aging field. Helene is working on becoming a certified Caregiving Advocate and Consultant, and a Certified Dementia Practitioner.

She has received additional training in elder abuse, social isolation and loneliness, caring for people with memory loss and training. Helene is a certified facilitator for Respecting Choices — Certified Facilitator in Advanced Care Planning, Co-Generate Social Isolation and Loneliness Facilitator, courses, Seminars and Webinars through, Philadelphia Bar Association, Bucks County Bar Association, PA Bar Association, American Bar Association, American Society on Aging, Philadelphia Corporation on Aging, and PA Behavioral Health Coalition, Certification Trauma Informed Care and Person-Centered Care.
